I can clearly see that we can stigmatize candidates that persist in taking any large donations. We can do this by simply creating a website–perhaps Campaign Central. Any Candidate, for any race in the World can sign up and address all of the issues that are pertinent to their race. However, each must explain what their large donors want in exchange for their money.
Here is the point, there is no need for any other publicity, once we make this option available to the candidates and to the people. We will stigmatize Big Donations. We can take the money we raise and use it to make Big-Money Advertising on behalf of the Site and on behalf of all participating Candidates–no-one in particular.
There are many other issues that most people agree with. Nobody would disagree with shutting down the Revolving Door Between Regulatory Agencies and the Industries they regulate.
Really, the most important issue is that of Freedom of Speech.
The key to this approach is to start out with a very narrow spectrum of popular ideas while avoiding anything that is controversial. Empowering people to effectively act on what they they already believe the the gate-way drug to further enlightenment. Stick to the issues that no one can effectively argue against.
The Mighty Two-Percent will run candidates for whichever party dominates their State. Of Course, every one will still vote their preferences in the General Election. This approach empowers members from the minority party to influence who the majority party puts up for the Election.
The Mighty Two-Percent will deliver Elections that are not close-enough to steal!
