miri, yes, that seems to be confusing, misleading or political.
Long ago, if my memory is correct, I came across an article, I think in the WSJ, that described that the leadership of the “world council of churches” came from Russia. It influenced the leaders of established church hierarchies to dilute, ban or re-purpose some biblical wording, teachings, or such.
That created some confusions, opening possibilities for anybody. That became evident by many protestant churches quickly amending or changing their historical affiliations names, like Methodist, to more diluted or meaningless names, like Desert Sky, River Valley .. Church, etc.
Plus, lazy or ego-powered lay-persons became “pastors, preachers, reverends, high holy, …” Many of them of them easily created their own “non-denominational” (…hmm) congregations in empty shopping center spaces of small business store closings all over the USA.
Plus, I just found this: Wow, do these reports great division, battles among the Israelites? I have stayed far from dogma. coaching, etc. Such disturbs my intuition.
