Hi Foster,
This is not a question, just an alert to let you know that I’ve just posted extensive feedback to your “Declaration of Ethics for AI” post. In fact, so extensive that you could call it an essay! ;-)
After our discussion in the most recent Fireside chat, about the use of the word “person” in the Declaration vs. various alternatives, I wanted to take the time to express this feedback in more detail in writing as well. This in turn triggered quite some pondering and new ideas about this topic in the past two weeks, and I found many additional resources which I think are very relevant to the Declaration as well – as you said it’s a work in progress.
I’ve split up my comments by topic, to make it more digestible. But I discovered that all the formatting (such as bold, italic and underline font, bullet points, etc.) gets lost in the Discussion section, which makes it slightly less readable.
If you want, I can also email you the formatted document, e.g. as a PDF or Word document. If you’d like that, please let me know.
Oh, and I also posted another comment (not nearly as long) to your Declaration of Independence post, which I very much enjoyed reading!
